Inauguration – UNSW YSBHH
Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus’ initiative of Social Business (SB) is a societal, cause-driven business philosophy to achieve one or more social objectives. The UNSW Yunus Social Business Health Hub (YSBHH) is part of a global network of university-based YSBC. The UNSW YSBHH will leverage the work on social determinants of health, global health and mHealth led from the School of Public Health and Community Medicine (SPHCM), in collaboration with the Asia Pacific ubiquitous Health Research Centre (APuHC) and the WHO Collaborating Centre in E-Health.
Panel: Social business, mHealth and health
Mobile health (mHealth) is using mobile phones and communication technologies to make health information and services more accessible and affordable. This interactive panel discussion will discuss some mHealth work in developing countries, such as Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Japan, PNG and Pakistan and in Australia. The nexus between social business, determinants of health and e/mHealth will be explored and issues discussed by the panel.
