The myUNSW Web Enrolment Guide includes step by step instructions. myUNSW is also a key source of information about UNSW services, policies and procedures. Important information for students enrolling in programs at the School of Public Health and Community Medicine is included at the top of this page.

The Admissions Office will send out details about the enrolment process to new students prior to the start of the academic session. The School will post and email information about orientation and timetables to both new and re-enrolling students prior to the commencement of each academic session.

2. Enrolment procedures for NEW students

  • Details about enrolment will be sent to you approximately one month prior to the orientation day. This will include information about course offerings and also details about how to enrol. You will have the opportunity to discuss your selection at the orientation day.

3. Enrolment procedures for CONTINUING students

4. What if I want to take leave from my studies?

If you intend to take leave for a session or two, you must contact your program administrator to obtain permission from the School before the census date for each session, i.e. Session 1 - 31 March; Session 2 - 31 August. Within your request please include your name, student number, postal address, program of study, and how many sessions of leave you wish to take. NOTE: you will not be able to drop your total enrolment yourself online.

5. How do I know what is on offer?

An information pack will be posted and emailed to you prior to the commencement of residential week. This pack contains a list of course offerings and a timetable for the session. The timetable is also available online and will be updated as changes occur and when venues are confirmed so please ensure that you check the site regularly.

6. What do I do once I get to the myUNSW screen?

myUNSW is regularly updated and instructions and ' How to.." steps for all functions are provided on the myUNSW site.

8. How do I change my enrolment?

Once you have enrolled you can add courses to your enrolment online until the end of Week 2 of each semester. You can drop courses from your enrolment until the session census date. Variation of enrolment is governed by the same rules as discontinuation of enrolment and due dates must be observed (
See point 7). for important dates to be aware of.

9. When can I discontinue a course?

The last date to discontinue a course without failure is the census date in each session. You can still discontinue courses on NSS online until the end of Week 8. 13. UNIPASS and student email.

  • All students will be required to obtain a UNIPASS password to access myUNSW. This allows students to view results, check financial statements, re-enrol each session and update their contact details. The UNIPASS also enables students to access their student email account which is allocated on enrolment.
  • Please see the Student IT Helpdesk Website for more information about the UNIPASS. The office is located on Level 2 of the UNSW library and can be contacted by phone on 02 9385 1777 or by email to servicedesk@unsw.edu.au.
  • All enrolled students are allocated a student email account. Important information is sent to student email accounts, in particular details about fees, enrolment and results. To access your account go to the unimail website and logon in using your username ie - 'z' followed by your student number and your password ie your unipass.
  • Please note that if you are not using your student email account currently, it is important to arrange for your student account to forward to the account of your choice.
