Current Research Topic: Adult accounts of organised child sexual abuse in Australia
My postgraduate research project is an exploratory qualitative inquiry into the life histories of adults who, as children, were sexually abused by multiple adults alongside multiple children. The project will document the contexts within which children may be at risk of organised abuse, and the range of experiences of children who are sexually abused by organised networks or groups. The analysis will consider the social, familial and subcultural aspects of organised abuse as they emerge within the recounted biographies of participants.

Current Research Topic: The impact and effectiveness of equity focused health impact assessment on policy development within the health system
An estimated 5,000 lives are lost each year in New South Wales alone through early deaths due to differences in socioeconomic status. While many of the causes are related to social, environmental and economic factors, the health system has an important direct role through advocacy, improving access to services and reducing risks for illness. This study looks at the effectiveness of using equity focused health impact assessment to ensure health policies maximise the distribution of benefits to all groups

Current research topic: Analysis of pricing policy and possible solutions for affordable medicine prices in Vietnam
Based on a database from the Vietnam medicine price survey conducted in Nov 2005 using a standard methodology developed by the World Health Organization and Health Action International, my study is a further step to develop appropriate price control policies and programs for affordable medicine prices in Vietnam. Qualitative approach is applied to find out why medicine prices in Vietnam were so high when international market is so competitive. Solutions Vietnam has put in place are also analysed to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the solutions. Finally, from the particular situation of Vietnam and lesson from other countries, price control policies for Vietnam are developed and tested with key stakeholders in Vietnam

Current research topic: Travel patterns and traveller behaviour and their relationship to the importation and emergence of infections in the Australian population. Travellers are exposed to a range of infection risks, and the dynamics of disease transmission globally is influenced by travel patterns and the nature of travel. This research project focuses on travellers and aims to provide insights into the dynamics of disease transmission into Australian by travellers who may act as vectors to transport diseases across international borders.
