Postgraduate Research Student Review Timetable
Postgraduate Research Student Review Timetable
The University of New South Wales requires the progress of all students to be appraised during a formal interview. The first review is held 6 months into the candidature, and then assessed at least annually. The goals of the Progress Review are:
- to assess progress by the candidate on the research being undertaken
- to contribute toward a rewarding and productive research environment and
- to identify problem areas in the student's work and to implement procedures to resolve these problem areas.
Information about the Progress Reviews can be found at:

The School of Public Health and Medicine postgraduate research students are reviewed by a panel of academics. There are usually three panel members at a progress review. If possible, at least one panel members will have content knowledge on the thesis. The progress review is scheduled for one hour and is attended by the candidate and both of their supervisors.
The review panels at SPHCM have been divided into broad research areas. These panels will meet on selected dates.
Please nominate a review panel listedat the site below for your progress review. Click on the link to the appropriate panel. The dates and times on which the review panels will be meeting are listed in the excel table which will be
read only. Please email me (
d.debono@unsw.edu.au) with the time and date that the review panel is meeting. If that time is still available you will be allocated the time and the table will be updated accordingly. As this is a read only file I will need to make the changes and will confirm these with you. Times will be allocated on a first request basis. Please ensure that both your supervisor and co-supervisor are available at the time you choose BEFORE you email me.
